Dear Members
I hope this finds you in good spirits despite the rain. We could be much worse off than so many areas which have such dreadful flooding. Just a bit if surface water here and there.
A few reminders and some new items as we look ahead.
October 23rd 8.00: Gary Fisher is giving an illustrated talk on The Gunpowder Plot.
This should be very interesting so please come along if you possibly can.
October 24th-29th is half term so we hope to be busy on Tuesday.
Please assist by parking off site unless in a classic.
Sunday 29th Is Open Day with a visit from the steel rods and there are 55 promised.
Should be a terrific display. Again, please park off-site.
Saturday 4th November 10-3.30 A chance to see the veteran vehicles participating in the
Brighton Run in Malborough Road next to St James’ Palace.
Sunday November 12th there is the pre-booked visit to The St Albans Organ Theatre.
Please be there by 2.45. Lesley has the tickets.
Monday November 13th 8.00pm. Steve Waddingham will be giving a talk on Aston Martins.
Hope he will have a good turn-out.
Friday 17th November Nomination forms and any items for discussion at the AGM should be in.
Saturday 25th November: Rock’n’roll Night in the annexe. A great evening fundraiser.
Tickets £12.00.
Monday 27th November 8.00p.m. AGM Please come if you possibly can. It is your Society and a chance to hear about the work of the EDVVT. Members only.
Wednesday 29th November Christmas Meal for Members, Volunteers and partners.
A carvery meal at the Woodman 21 Warrengate North Mymms AL9 7TT at 7.00 for 7.30.
The meal is £17.95 a head. Desserts are additional if you have room! Deposit of £5 per head to secure your places. Please give to Judith by Tuesday 21st November. (Cash only)
Monday 11 th December Society Social: open to members, volunteers and partners: a relaxed evening with light festive refreshments and entertainment. Also the special Christmas Raffle.
In the new year we will have alternate afternoon and evening meetings on the second and fourth
Mondays respectively through January, February and March. That way we hope we can see more of you at meetings. These will not be repeat programmes so if you can come to both, please do so.
Mike Pierce is organising a weekend rally to Aylesbury for the weekend after Easter 2024 and is
collecting names and deposits now. Should be great.
