August seems to have been a busy month with plenty of events to enjoy, but I know for many of you it has been difficult due to health issues or car problems. Unfortunately the nights are already drawing in and the lights are needed by 8.00. I have to remember to water the garden by 7.00 or I am too late! My thanks for the terrific support for the Hatfield Display which was a lovely day for everyone with complimentary tickets to the House and a working fountain.
The car show season is drawing to a close. Hopefully the weather will be good for Capel Manor tomorrow and for Buntingford on the 7th September. The latter is now fully booked so if you go on spec you may be disappointed and find yourself away from the cars on display. I was too late!
So here are the dates for September:
1st September: Capel Manor
5th September :First meeting of the Pageant Committee at 7.30 in the club room. Do come if you would like to be on this important organising committee.
7th September: Buntingford Classic Car Show
8th September: Emergency Services Day in the Market Square Enfield. The Museum is participating so if in town do say hello or help promote the Museum by giving out leaflets.
9th September : 8.00 Society meeting with speaker Theresa Watts a Pearly Queen talking about their tradition and the work they do: This promised to be a fascinating talk so do try and come.
17th September: Deadline for the Newsletter.
23rd September: 8.00 A talk and display of Militaria by one of our youngest volunteers Zac Argyrides supported by his father, John.
24th September: 4.00p.m. Open Meeting of Trustees, Volunteers and Society Members. This is a follow-up meeting to the one in January and is an opportunity to contribute to the 5 year plan for the Museum and find out how people can get involved in looking after our exhibits whether a vehicle or a dolls house. If you want to be involved and cannot attend or want to raise an issue please let it be known.
